Seminole Real Estate History
In late 1970 the City incorporates at a meeting in the Seminole center mall. Seminole's real estate expansion really took off in 1985 when they bought 9.6 acres and later became the post office and city library. Then in 1992 the new 1.5 million library opens from a 15 acre purchase the prior year. Just seven years later a $6.1 million expansion and renovation started on the Seminole recreation center. With all this Seminole Real Estate growth three unincorporated neighborhoods voted to join the city in 2000 nearly doubling it's size. Then in 2003 the new $6.8 million library was completed in a joint venture use with St. Petersburg junior college.
